Well, fuck it. I guess all good times must come to an end, and I have had a really good time at the 540 Club. Sadly we are going to give the weekly a rest while we tackle this summer's bigger production projects (including a new album, an audio/video massive March 27 @ Mighty, and a possible return to Slide Ranch [a.ka. Day Out of Time] in a few months.) So that means that was the LAST LOWPRO at the 540 CLUB!

What a great reason to celebrate all the fun times had at the little bar that defied the rules and hosted a cool electronic-music weekly when no one else in the Richmond was doing it. After 20 parties there, I can't even count how many amazing sets of music I heard and delicious pints of Guinness I drank. Crazy people and crazier times.
Our goal with this event was to create an open venue for experiencing the talents of the people within our own community. Vision and patience from the 540's staff made this possible. We would like to thank all the dj's and musicians for sharing and especially Nathan Janos and Ben Sheppee for giving us all the chance to see their cutting edge visual creations.
We all remember seeing such notable characters as: International Comedic genius Sinbad, Tennessee Titan's wide receiver Drew Bennett with Katie G's sister, SF journalist-turned-trucker Jonathan Zwickel, Don Miguel Maté, Hyde, Pierre, Sean boulangerie, Tarek, Nicolle, Jess, Benny, Matty, & Sarah W.
You also might have caught dope musical contributions from: Brizzlescratch, Twittering Machine, Jtonal, Peter D'Elia, the Konstrukt crew, serial sickness from Citizen Ten, M23, Jacaranda, Ligyro, Majitope, B. Smiley, Bruce Wang, Dub-Tek, and James Christopher.
Now Thursdays will have to go back to the way they were: no more crazy trips to the Richmond, the cops can finally bust homeless people again instead of driving up and down in front of the 540, and that uber-cranky neighbor can finally get some much needed sleep.
The DJ lineup for the last party was a tribute to all those great musicians that have graced us with their funky beats. 7 DJs were spinning half-hour sets showcasing their best tracks, and most dastardly skills.

Guinness lover and beat architect Jtonal is ready to drop the head-nod shit on the Richmond. Jtonal mixes original and unreleased tracks, layering down sweet instrumental hiphop and glitchy IDM melodies.
Citizen Ten is back to mix the chillest of vibes with the kind shit that makes your head nod. Always a technician of the buttery beats, Citizen Ten provides an entire aural landscape, with lush tones and freaked out samples as he lends his confusik charm.
The Twittering Machine is an San Francisco IDM producer, charting the area between exp. hip hop and the great chaos. Subtle melody, galactic rhythms, and drum beats which pulse with entropy blend to create a richly textured soundscape. The Twittering Machine rocks all original music, and composes a unique hour-long piece live on stage.
Co-Founder of Late Night Sneaky the SF house/breaks crew, B. Smiley has made his mark in the city's night life dropping some of the funkiest progressive breaks and the most maximum rock n' roll prog house you've ever heard.
James Christopher is a founding member of Roots Science live jungle band, remix artist, and dnb master dropping ill tracks and mind-bending mixes. Featuring unreleased tracks from some of SF's best producers.
Think there's no such thing as hard and tough dnb in the Richmond? Let M23 destroy your argument as he layers down the crushing dnb basslines and pile-driving drums. These are the kind of mixes to write home about.
Nathan Janos is a visual innovator who helped develop the EJ Midi Turntable for scratching video. Nate will be pushing the live pixels on the video screen. Cutting edge shit- expect his signature style of fuzzy dreamscapes and wandering chromatic narratives.
As always, we will be featuring fresh-squeezed organic juice, two brands of cold unfiltered saké, an array of saké cocktails, and hot saké service.
