BLVD
Before We See The Sun
BLVD's second album, 'Before We See The Sun,' has influences by some of the best and most progressive electronic sounds such as The Chemical Brothers or The Crystal Method. This 10 track album is set to bridge the gap between organic live music and the polished rhythmic quality of club DJs. It is produced by the duo Chocolate O'Brian who's credits include remixes for No Doubt and Flip Side.
Split into two sections, the album opens into a series of songs featuring three Bay Area vocalists. The lyrics on the first four songs were written by Josh Macintosh, drummer Dylan Macintosh's brother. Josh sings on two tracks including the opening song, entitled 'Radio,' a heavy rock influenced breaks track which sets the tone for the rest of the album. Other vocalists include soulful house diva, Latrice Barnett who is currently touring to support her own release. To create a segue into the instrumental second half of the album and representing BLVD's love of reggae and dance hall music, they invited vocalist Luv Fyah to sing on the
last of the vocal tracks, titled 'Feel it Nice.' The album concludes with a series of instrumental tracks that will give listeners an insight into the dynamic originality of a live BLVD show. Look for the remix album, currently in production featuring tracks by members of the Lowpro Lounge, BLVD, and DJ Joe Livingston. These remixes are set to hit stores in summer 2006.
